Tope joined AXA IM1 in 2020 as a Senior Private Equity Transaction Lead, responsible for investment appraisal and execution within the Impact Investing strategy. He brings over 19 years of Principal Investing and Corporate Finance experience.

Most recently, he was a Director at Coronation Capital, an Alternative Asset Manager, where he led Private Equity direct investments and also helped to develop the firm’s Fund Secondaries investment strategy. Previously, Tope spent seven years at 8 Miles, a $200 million Private Equity firm, where he led investment transactions across several sectors. He also had portfolio management responsibilities, representing 
8 Miles on the Board of portfolio companies as well as driving implementation of Value Creation and ESG action plans.

Prior to 8 Miles, Tope worked in Investment Banking, including at Merrill Lynch in New York, where he helped to execute over $30 billion of M&A and capital raise transactions.

Tope holds an MBA with majors in Finance and Management Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management (USA), and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo University (Nigeria).

    AXA Investment Managers joined BNP Paribas Group in July 2025. Following the merger of AXA Investment Managers Paris and BNP PARIBAS ASSET MANAGEMENT Europe and their respective holding companies on December 31, 2025, the combined company now operates under the BNP PARIBAS ASSET MANAGEMENT Europe name.
