Dr. Fred St Goar is a practicing cardiologist from Mt View, California where he serves as the medical director of El Camino Health’s Melchor Heart and Vascular Institute. Dr. St Goar has been involved with medical technology development for over 30 years, has numerous patents, and has assisted in starting multiple med-tech companies. Dr. St Goar serves as the vice chairman of the board of the Fogarty Innovation, a Silicon Valley non-profit biotech incubator which has a mission to support globally impactful projects and women innovators. He has been an active participant in the medtech industry, including helping to found HeartPort and Evalve, where he was also the physician inventor of the company’s revolutionary minimally invasive catheter-based MitraClip system (Abbott), which won the prestigious Prix Galien USA award.

Education

Dr. St Goar went to medical school at Harvard University and did his internal medicine and cardiology training at Stanford.
